As Simple as Life Can Be

Sitting in the sand alongside the river
Observing the clouds and watching the breeze,
that cools and ripples the water
Wafting through the trees and dancing with the leaves
As simple as life can be
Sit back amidst the trees
Saplings on the shore that grow without name
Branches gone wild with no one to tame
The roots stretch, if only to stretch
Like life, blowing in the breeze
As simple as life can be
Sit back amidst the trees
Yet as a wonder, I sit and admire
The river runs like a dream from many unseen miles
A shadow overhead, not to love and not to dread
It brings no danger, we have no fear at all
Always the torrents clash together like clockwork
Expectations that I rely on
Engulfing me in oceanic chamber
Poseidon's throne of verse, as a muse it inspires
As simple as life can be
Sit back amidst the trees

I: Fall of the King
Following the darkness of the new moon
An early dawn of uncertainty
Something cascades through the shadows
Behind the forests of the valley
A blood red haze eclipsed the sun
In clouds of rolling thunder
Everything changed when they stormed the gates
And crossed the castle yards
Fierce McMikon and the fall of the king
Peer over the edge of this shrouded tower
And bid farewell to your throne
Your subjects fall to sustain my power
The power that is mine, all my own
Your loyalty's pathetic, your laws are insufficient
Your freedoms leave you spineless and weak
Schools, libraries, even furniture stores
Will mold to satisfy my needs
Fierce McMikon killed their king and enslaved them all
II: The Garnet Scepter (Instrumental)
III: Escape
The worthless battle never ends
Cast fires that reach the sunrise
Escaping from this cruel new world
That's built on fear and lies
The plague of darkness sees no end
The king's towers have fallen
The citadel lay under the ruins
The legacy of Fierce McMikon
Maybe one day we can return

Beyond the Valley

Beyond the valley
The river winds toward the open sea
A dawn unto night
A promising dream of everlasting peace
Along the river
An emerald city of towering furs
Under the shadow
Scattering light plays to your mind's designs
Salutations
Our sages and the wise welcome you
Run from the shadows
The silent ones need salvation, too
You must listen
Follow the river far away from here
Approaching night
A thousand sullen crimson fears trail behind
Escape the land
Our riverbanks will stain with blood
The red dusk is nigh
The forests will burn for many nights to come
Beyond the valley
Fierce McMikon holds his deadly reign
Out towards a land of misty blue landscapes
Where time runs thin

Before the Storm

Rush the barracks, storm the cells
Free us from our nightly hell
The air is still and bitter cold
A single flake of snow gently falls
Before the storm
Flailing and howling, rebellion rallying
Taking toll all the lost souls
Convene in tearful moat
It rains, it rains, oh it rains
Harrowing pain
From the north, a glacial touch
In silent repose
From the west, lightning struck
And no moon will light our way
Before the storm
From the south it continues to snow
Bleak reservations numbed
We ask of the east the sun to rise
And warm the sheltering sky; It rains
Excruciating pain
